WE'RE THE STC HORNS(: Friday, April 17, 2009 ALEX THAT IS SO NOT TRUE OKAY!!!you're not lousy, you're not NOT as good as me or nurul or anyone! (and this is for nurul and pat and vanessa and me too) who cares about those people who say you can't?? i mean, if i told you 'alex, you can't even talk properly!' would you say 'oh yeah...i'm so lousy...' NO RIGHT?!! you'd be like 'oh shut the hell up!' but of course please don't actually say that. i'm scared too okay...everyone is. honestly, i'm not even fully aware of everything that i have to do yet. it's gonna be different now without all the laorens, and it's gonna be weird sometimes. but we can do this, together(: don't ever ever EVER doubt yourself. even if people kep saying that 'oh i thought someone else was better for this job...' or 'oh you confirm can't do it...' and maybe you messed up something, just tell yourself... "i don't care what they say. if it's not even going to help me why should i listen to their critisism? i was chosen for a reason. and if i change everytime some random person (who doesn't even know what it's like to do it) tells me to, then what's the use of them choosing me? they chose me for me. my alexis-ness, my patricia-ness, my nurul-ness. i have this post, because i'm me. " honestly, alex, i really always wanted you to be sl. cos i know that you won't take any crap from anyone. and that's a good thing. (: so don't ever put yourself down because of what people say, or the mistakes you do. trust me, you'll make mistakes. but (i've told laoren this MANY times before), you only really fail, when you stop trying. so okay, you made a mistake. who doesn't? we're all human aren't we? any aliens please raise your hand? but what you do after you make the mistake is what counts. are you going to make it right, and do it better? or are you going to say 'oh i'm such a faliure i can't do anything.' you know the answer to that one. so what if other people who have the same post as you are older, or have even more posts? it just means that at sec 2, you are capable enough to do what they can only do at sec 3. and i'm proud of every single one of you. if people say that you shouldn't be in that post... well, who cares? what they say will only be true when you let it be. when you agree and say 'oh i can't do anything, others are better than me' but really, please don't give a shit. deep down inside, inside the real, true alex and pat and nurul and vanessa, is the real you that believes you can do it. and the conductors and teachers and all the laorens and ME all KNOW that you can do it. so have a little faith in yourself, and their judgement. they have their reasons for doing this. so just do it(: show those dumb people who keep saying all that -insert gross thing here- that YOU CAN DO IT. (: jiayou ba. i cannot be any more proud of you all than i already am. we'll go through this, and give our all, and then maybe a little more. together as a HORN SECTION. and make our laorens proud and happy. okay? American Riversongs - CHIJ St Teresa Convent In an effort to introduce a wide repertoire to young musicians today and to instil music diversity and creativity, the Sembawang Symphonic Winds (SSW) welcomes all young musicians who have a keen interest in music-making to join us in our weekly rehearsals every Saturday. No, audition is not required to get into SSW. Q2. Do I have to bring my own instrument?
